LoTW vs eQSL QRZ Forum

eQSL and LoTW are your 2 main sites you wanna use. Some people don't use eQSL and only use LoTW and vice versa so that's why you wanna use them both. I use QRZ mainly for call look up's I don't really use there logbook (not many really do). I've used other sites like HRDlog but they aren't as good as eQSL and LoTW imo LOTW vs. eQSL: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics Came across some interesting observations out in the blogosphere re: LOTW, whether its worth the hassle and such, by VE3OIJ and KB6NU . I shared some thoughts a few months ago not long after I got LOTW working Log4OM does a great job. It can upload to eQSL, LOTW, QRZ, HamQTH, HRDLog and Clublog. You can bulk upload, or auto upload after each QSO on all services except LoTW. I like to upload to LoTW first, then import them to QRZ so the confirmations carry over. My hit rate on LoTW is very good for me, so I never use QRZ for requesting confirmations. From a printing the record standpoint, a generic eQSL card is much more attractive then the LoTW line item text record. If you want awards, solid proof, or an accurate tally of entities worked by the de facto award entity - ARRL, LoTW, or actual QSL cards is #

Overview: This is a Review of the eQSL QSL Service. I previously did a review of ARRL LOTW, and in order to be fair to eQSL, (which I use as well as LOTW), I decided to do an eQSL review. The eQSL service is currently running a QSL exchange service, in which one Amateur Operator , SWLers, and others, can swap a digital QSL card eQSL.cc should not be confused with Logbook of the World (LoTW) from ARRL. LoTW is not a QSL exchange. The LoTW system is a repository of log records subm itted by users from around the worl d. When both participants in a QSO submit matching QSO records to LoTW, the result is a QSL that can be used for ARRL award credit eQSL.cc - The Electronic QSL Card Centre. * If you have a new callsign, DO NOT keep uploading * New, less expensive alternative to walnut eAward p... * When uploading ADIF logs, take care to only upload.. Electronic QSL -- LOTW vs. eQSL; I got my first ticket in 1967 as WN9AXC later to become WB9AXC and now K9SJB. Anyway, in 1967 I would dash out to my mailbox to see what QSL cards I had received and from where. I still do that with the same zeal I did in 1967. Getting a QSL via an electronic post really has no zing to it

By matching your records with those turned in by the people you contacted the contact can be verified in minutes instead of months or even years which is how long it took with paper QSL cards. There are other groups that offer similar services, like eQSL or club log, LOTW is the most popular Paper Vs LOTW and forget eqsl it's not secure. I use paper cards, some are great to look at and hang on the wall. Those special ones rare DX go in DX album. I have been using Log book of the world for 2 years now and really like it,just wished more hams used it. To get my DXCC 30 of the countries were from LOTW

  2. The return rate for eQSL for both events is well below 10%. For all the caterwauling that occurs about LoTW here and elsewhere, I think that ARRL considers it a success given that well over 416 million QSO records have been entered and it has an overall match rate of just over 13%
  3. LOTW vs eQSL - The argument continues. 5 comments. Recent posts on QRZ.Com and on some blogs shows that there are many people who are still arguing the merits of both LOTW and eQSL. I suspect this argument will go on for eons, or at least another decade

Any connection between eQSL and LOTW? : amateurradi

  1. I upload to both LoTW and eQSL regularly and find it much easier to use LoTW, at least with the N3FJP logging software I use. I gave money to eQSL to help support it, but the LoTW site is also much faster. My return rates are a bit higher on LoTW - about 30% vs. 25%
  2. Comments on: LOTW vs eQSL - The argument continues Hi John, I've got a pretty mediocre setup here. On top of that, no matter how much I enjoy contesting, I am not a contester if you know what I mean. And, no matter how much I want to work DX and get confirmations, I'm not a DXer either. I don't put the time, effort, or money into any of.
  3. Another thing my return vs eQSL & LOTW cannot compare. I get 3 or 4 more times a return using eQSL. That was when my LOTW was working before the crash. And I like to send them out right away I don't like waiting for anything so I don't understand why some make ops wait months and months sometimes years for a confirmation

Red: Not confirmed via LoTW Green: Confirmed via LoTW. Black: Worked, but not sent to LoTW. I could care less about confirming eQSL, Clublog, or QRZ.COM. 7. What I hate about the whole LOTW vs. eqsl mess is that to me, it causes problems in chasing awards. Some folks confirm contacts via LOTW and eqsl while others just use one or the other. It's pretty aggravating to be chasing WAS and realize you have a whole bunch of confirmations on LOTW but the guys from those last few states you need have.
